Abstract

Biotechnology and biosciences have become central drivers of innovation in modern life sciences, influencing healthcare, agriculture, environmental sustainability, and industrial development. This review critically examines recent advancements in genome editing, synthetic biology, artificial intelligence, precision medicine, regenerative therapies, microbiome research, nanobiotechnology, and bioinformatics. The study highlights how interdisciplinary integration has accelerated scientific discovery and enabled novel solutions to complex biological and societal challenges. While these breakthroughs offer significant opportunities for improving human well-being and sustainable development, they also raise ethical, regulatory, and accessibility concerns. The review emphasises the need for responsible innovation, global collaboration, and equitable application of emerging biotechnologies.
